I grew up in Southern California and went to college in Oxford, England (where I met my handsome husband!). After living in England we decided to settle in Erie, Colorado. I worked as a Special Education Teacher at a local elementary school for ten years. Photography became a way for me to work creatively + stay home with our boys.
I spend most of my time raising our two boys, Milo + Walter on our little homestead, which we are currently renovating. We have two dogs (Gatsby + Miss Bennett) + nine funny little hens.

I became a mother through adoption, after struggling with years of infertility. Capturing every moment of my sweet boy's lives has become a huge passion for me and sharing our story with others is an awesome gift. Motherhood is such a joy - and it's a very big reason why I love capturing these moments for other families as well as my own.

It's where I studied literature and it's where I met my husband. I lived in Oxford for 5 years and was able to travel all over Great Britain + Europe. From wine tasting in Tuscany, to seeing Paris from the Eiffel Tower, to visiting Shakespeare's birthplace to standing where they filmed the Harry Potter flying broomstick scene, I got to experience the world in new and exciting ways. I miss the cobblestones + tea time + all the history.

If I could live in any time period, it would be in New York in the 1920s. I even celebrated my 30th birthday with a 1920's themed party.

My husband and I worked with Ashley for our engagement photos and wedding portraits! Ashley makes you feel so comfortable and is easy to talk to! She gives fun prompts and the time we spent felt like quality time as a couple laughing and enjoying each other. The lighting and color on all of our photos was magical, she really captured us beautifully! I love that our photos capture the essence of us as a couple, and the photos look candid rather than overly posed. Highly recommend Ashley as she is kind, responsive, and so talented! We hope we can work with her again to capture our future milestones.
Ashley is amazing in every single way. Not only do we LOVE our photos, but we felt so comfortable during the session and had so much fun. My husband truly does not like photos, but he still talks about how amazing Ashley was and how he wants to make sure she takes our photos when we have kids! If you are looking for someone who is going to make you feel comfortable and capture your genuine smile and real emotions, Ashley is your girl. We can't recommend her enough.
Ashley with Gather and Abide Photography is the BEST!! She truly captures the authentic, small moments, which we really wanted. She included our engagement session into the wedding package that we bought, which was great because it was a great value and it helped us get to know her/feel more comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day.
